How to use shortcuts
Toggle Shortcut
Quickly activate or deactivate the grey cover using the shortcut `Ctrl + Shift + Y` or `Cmd + Shift + Y`.
If you are visiting a page that already has a dark mode, you can easily disable the extension using the shortcut to avoid double darkening the screen. For bright pages, activate the extension to reduce brightness and protect your eyes using the shortcut.
Change Shortcut
If you don't want default shortcut or other apps already have the same shortcut, you can change shortcut on your own. Here's follwing instruction.
1. Open Chrome:
2. Access Extensions
- Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser to open the menu.
- Hover over "More tools" and then select "Extensions."
3. Navigate to Keyboard Shortcuts
- On the Extensions page, click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
- Select "Keyboard shortcuts" from the menu.
4. Change the Shortcut
- A list of your installed extensions and their current shortcuts will appear.
- Find the extension for which you want to change the shortcut.
- Click on the current shortcut next to the extension name.
Press the new key combination you want to assign as the shortcut. Make sure the combination is not already in use by another extension or Chrome function.
5. Save the Changes:
- The new shortcut will be saved automatically. There is no need to press a save button.
6. Test the New Shortcut
- Ensure the new shortcut works by using it to activate the extension.
